On Friday night of this past weekend we had very heavy rain that resulted in flash flooding because of the Waldo Canyon burn scar. There was a lot of destruction in Manitou Springs, a suburb of Colorado Springs. Several houses were destroyed - one was completely swept away.
Check out this video that was taken on Highway 24 where we had been driving earlier that day. The westbound lane of the highway became a raging river because of water pouring off of the burn scar from last year's fire.

These pictures were taken at our house during the storm. We are very thankful to be on high ground!
