Hiking the Columbine Trail in North Cheyene Canon

We took another challenging hike this afternoon on a new trail above Colorado Springs. Cold and windy but beautiful!! Since taking these pictures it has snowed and is all white outside. Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Thanksgiving weekend

A beautiful warm day today so we headed outdoors and enjoyed a great hike at Fox Run.

Bench...... and the view from the bench!

We stopped at the grocery store after hiking and were rather astounded at the size of these turkeys. You see, we lived for so many years in Germany where the average size turkey that I would purchase for Thanksgiving was around 10 lbs. This particular turkey that Tim is attempting to pose with costs $43 (.99 cent/lb.) That is one massive bird!

Tonight after church we drove around to see some Christmas lights in our neighborhood. This house and yard must be the most decorated in the whole city! It was absolutely amazing! Click on the picture to see it enlarged, and look for signs such as "I love Jesus" and "Whose Birthday is it anyhow?"

American Thanksgiving

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with "family" in Colorado yesterday. We are blessed! Thank-you, Sam and Jane!

Dinner than...., what else??? Football!

Sam being silly and his wonderful wife Jane.

Twin sisters June and Jane!

Tyler spent Thanksgiving in Dayton, TX., with a wonderful family (and some very cute dogs!)

Luke is in Chicago for Thanksgiving reconnecting with BFA alumni from his graduating class of 2007. Some of them haven't seen each other since grad night so this is a pretty special reunion!

Back home!

Tim is back home sweet home after a 10 day trip representing ACSI at conventions across the States.
First stop was Chicago where he visited Moody and Wheaton.
Chapel at Moody.

Downtown Chicago.

While at Moody he ran into some friends from hometown Stow, Ohio!

Then on to Anaheim.....flying over The Grand Canyon on the way.

And then all the way across the country to a convention in DC. Tim was able to take a quick side trip to Philadelphia to visit his very good friend, Bill, from BFA days.

DC at night.

Coming home last night Tim captured this shot as his plane was landing in Chicago. Wow!

Tyler gets some visitors

Today Tyler's Aunt and Uncle, along with our good friends Ken and Marilyn, were in Longview, TX, visiting Tyler at LeTourneau University. Tyler was able to take them to the airport and show them where he has been spending a lot of his time. I'm just a little bit jealous! Thanks, Jesse and Doris for treating him to lunch and for taking some pictures for us to enjoy!

Mama's Brag Book - Part II

Tyler is now a pilot! He passed his flight test just over a week ago! This is a long-time dream come true for Tyler. Needless to say, we are very proud of him! We'll see how much confidence we have when its time for him to take us up in a little Cessna! I hope we don't have to wait too long before he can take his mom and dad out flying.

"For once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been... and there you will long to return." Leonardo da Vinci

Tyler's floor at LeTourneau is decorating for Christmas this weekend. Their theme this year is "Christmas through the Ages" and they're incorporating a putt putt course through the hall and in each of the decorated rooms. They have a contest each year and for the past several years Tyler's floor has won.
Here are Tyler, Ben (BFA grad of 2010) and Jennifer (Tyler's friend) hard at work!

Allow me to brag a little!

Luke is a senior at Taylor University and loving it! He is majoring in Graphic Design. This past summer he had the opportunity of interning for a magazine in San Francisco.
Here are some pictures of his friends at Taylor as well as some of the illustrations he created for the magazine.
