Honeymoonin'

These past two weeks Luke and Andrea have been traveling in Germany, France, Switzerland, and Italy. Luke was finally able to show Andrea where he was born and raised. They have had a great time. They are heading home to NYC tomorrow.

Luke was able to reunite with our wonderful, amazing KD - the dog that we left with a German family before moving to the U.S. She is in a loving home and well taken care of.

The "honeymooners" (this trip was sort of like a honeymoon for them, because they were only able to take a few days off after their wedding last October) drove to Italy where they spent five days in Cinque Terre and Florence.
Sunset in Monterosso, Cinque Terre.

Florence, Italy.

Ponte Vecchio in Florence.

Driving over the Gotthard Pass in Switzerland. You can drive through the pass in a 17 mile tunnel, which gets very claustrophobic - it is a seriously beautiful sight to see the light at the end of this particular tunnel! Or you can drive over the pass, which takes considerably longer - winding mountain roads - but definitely more scenic.

On top of the world!

Luke was able to meet up with old BFA friends in Kandern and introduce Andrea to them.

My amazing sister, Doris, and her husband, Jesse, hosted Luke and Andrea while they were in Germany. Here's Luke on their last night in Germany, learning the art of doughnut making from Aunt Doris! When I saw this picture, it sure made me miss my mom. She was known for her wonderful doughnuts (and Doris obviously inherited her skills)!
