Graduation Day Part II

Four years ago Tim shook Ben's hand when he received his diploma at Black Forest Academy's high school graduation. On Wednesday Ben shook President Obama's hand after receiving his diploma, and he graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. We are very proud of him!

Ben and his sister Becca who also graduated from BFA and is studying to be a nurse.

Grandfather, father, son.....three generations of Ben's family who have all graduated from the Air Force Academy.

At the end of the graduation ceremony the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs has a fun tradition. Children between the ages of 7-11 are allowed on the field (under military supervision!), and after the cadets toss their hats in the air, the kids can go and each claim one hat to keep. Inside the hat there is always money - usually an amount which is equal to the graduation year. This year that amount was $20.12. Now that is a pretty sweet souvenir!

The prize inside the hat - $20.12!
