The Dome of St. Peter's

During our visit to St. Peter's Basilica, 70 of our group climbed the 551 steps to the top of the dome. If you are prone to claustrophobia this is not for you! Imagine a narrow stairway that winds around the inside of the dome. Sometimes you are walking on a slant! It is a strange sensation and not particularly enjoyable especially when the stairwell becomes very narrow and is packed full of people! But, the view from the top is well worth the trauma of getting there!
