Budenfest

Budenfest(Festival of the Booths) happens every year in our town at the beginning of September. Local clubs(soccer, wrestling, accordian!!, etc..) set up stands or whole tents(its like a restaurant inside) where they sell food. This is a great fund-raising opportunity for them because the 3 day event is well attended. BFA staff give them a lot of business! And all of the dorm students(160) patronize the Budenfest for at least one meal!
One of the foods that we like to try is called zwiebelwei or onion pizza. It is prepared with bacon and onion and is baked in the ovens that you see below.

Notice the wrestling garb on the wall. That is the club that sponsored this particular "restaurant".

Inside one of the tents - a lot of work goes into setting up for this event as you can see! They decorate the walls and sometimes the ceiling with live flowers and greenery.
