Post-Conference

Following our conference, there was a lot of clean-up and tear down, but many hands pitched in, and the job was done in no time. Corinne continued her flower magic! She dissembled the flower bouquets and re-arranged them into new arrangements to give to anybody who lived locally who wanted a beautiful (and free!) Easter bouquet. Wish I could have brought one home to America!

Back to Basel!

After the conference was over and the clean-up was done, we headed back to Basel for one last evening of soaking up its beauty and spending time with dear friends.

Lois had just returned from a BFA missions trip two hours earlier, very tired but happy. We loved listening to her stories about her time in Romania where her team built a home in just one week for a Romanian family. A group of BFA students along with students from the local high school in Kandern worked together with Habitat for Humanity to build this house. Great teamwork and good friendship made!

 I am surprised that we are still smiling! We were stuffed from a fabulous meal, but we couldn't leave without dessert! Time to loosen the belt!

Our home during the conference

During the conference we stayed in a delightful Gasthaus - Hotel Pfaffenkeller - in the village of Wollbach, just a few miles from Kandern. The building is at least 400 years old and by some estimates, up to 600 years old!

Breakfast was amazing! Fresh bread, homemade jams, all food grown locally. What a great way to start our day! Oh, and the coffee! Phenomenal!

A rainy afternoon in France

We spent an afternoon visiting the Alsace region of France, just an hours' drive from BFA. It was rainy and snowing at times, but we still had a wonderful time visiting some of our favorite old haunts.

 

What a nice surprise to meet up with a BFA student in one of the towns we visited!
