Another year gone by.......

I celebrated my Birthday this week. Tim ordered this beautiful "Birthday" rainbow just for me, he said!

Tim took me out to dinner to our favorite local restaurant, and while there Lizzy and Jessica from my small group showed up and surprised me with a gift! Later, some girls from the dorm brought a cake over to our house! I felt very special! Thank-you, Palmgarten!

The day after my Birthday I dug some pictures out of storage and scanned them. Here are just a few of Sherri (my twin) and I.

Proud to be Canadian!!

I am also proud of my U.S. citizenship!
Please check out this great video about Canada and the United States! It is worth watching.
I like President Kennedy's quote about our relationship:
"Geography has made us neighbors; history has made us friends; economy has made us partners; necessity has made us allies."

The end of another basketball season

This past week-end marked BFA's last home basketball games for the season.

During the final home games we have a great tradition of honoring the seniors who played on the team.

Rachel is being honored for helping to manage the girls team.

A little glimpse into dorm life

Tim and I really enjoy subbing at Palmgarten, the girls dorm which is next to our house.
Here are a few recent dorm photos.
I baked a big batch of cookies on Sunday afternoon and Tim and I took them to the girls for Valentines Day.

Anna loves to paint and was "commissioned" by one of her classmates to add some life to his bland black umbrella!

Garbage bags full of balloons which are on their way to a guys dorm to be used in a "nice" prank!

Tim being interviewed for a survey being conducted in one of the classes at school.

Students love to go sledding on the golf course next to Palmgarten when the snow covering is deep enough.

In keeping with Valentines

Here at BFA we've been going through a tough time the last two weeks. It's been particularly difficult for my small group. As I was anticipating meeting with them last night, I was asking God for wisdom and direction in how to lead our time together.
For starters, I made a special Valentines meal for them and invited them all for dinner (normally we meet later in the evening).
While we were eating we got into an animated conversation about Valentines day. This continued after the meal when Tim presented them with one of our wedding albums for them to peruse! Inside the album was the engagement letter that Tim had written to me almost 24 years ago; they asked Tim to read it out loud to them! After that, he read the story that I had written about our engagement. We talked with them a little bit about our wedding; I got my wedding dress out of storage and showed it to them.
These were special moments that we were able to share with "our girls" (which is truly what they have become). I pray that they were able to once again see how worth it it is to wait for God's best and to keep themselves for that one special man.
By the way, our evening went nothing according to what I had envisioned, but I know that God was in it! I think that this was just what these ladies needed - a fun time together but also some food for thought.

Proud Parents!

Tyler is especially enjoying life at LeTourneau these days because he is finally fulfilling his dream of being able to fly! He successfully completed ground school at the end of last semester and started flying in January. He landed a plane for the first time last week - all by himself!
He sent us this picture this morning!

Tyler's dorm (called Tyler Hall!) is in the bottom of the picture in the middle.

Sunset in the Schwarzwald

The snow has melted and today it is pouring rain! Here are a few shots I took when I was out on a late afternoon Sunday walk in the forest overlooking beautiful Kandern.
