Good-bye Kandern!

We will miss our beautiful little town of Kandern. I am thankful for pictures that we can take with us as well as wonderful memories to treasure.





The weekend before we flew, Kandern hosted a Choir Fest to help commemorate its 200th Birthday. A number of different music groups from the area participated, and they had a very large and receptive audience!

Good-bye KD!

We were able to say good-bye to our cute bichon, KD, who has been living with a German family since January 1 of this year. It was fun to see her one last time and she was very excited to see us! It wasn't hard to say good-bye to her because she is being very well taken care of in her new home and loves the family (she has probably learned some German, too!) It was hard to take a picture of her because she was so excited that she had a hard time sitting still!
Tim was happy to see that she was still very obedient and also that she hadn't forgotten the tricks he taught her a long time ago.

At BFA we have a wall where portraits of all former Directors are on display. The artist, Laura, is a former staff member who now lives in the States. She recently completed Tim's portrait and sent it to Germany before we left. As you can see, she did an amazing job! A pretty accurate rendering, wouldn't you agree?

Good-bye Adelboden!

Tim and I made one last day trip to the Swiss Alps before leaving Europe. We visited Frutigen where Tim's mom's cousin, Albert, lives. His house is behind this fountain, hidden a little bit by trees.

Adelboden, nestled in the heart of the Alps, is one of our favorite spots on earth! This is the little mountain town where Tim proposed to me 24 years ago!






Adelboden is celebrating its 600th Birthday this year!

Views from the town of Adelboden. It was near this spot that Tim asked me to marry him. We went and revisited that special place on this, our last visit to Adelboden. We both cried! We were reminded of how far God has brought us and how abundantly He has blessed us since that day in September, 1986, when I said "Yes!".
