A brief family update

This is the worship band that Luke plays guitar for on Sunday mornings(he attends Upland Community Church). All of the band members attend Taylor University.

Loading up after the morning service to head back to campus(which happens to be in the same town!)

Tyler plays bass for Middle School chapel at BFA. He is also practicing to play bass with a trumpet band at our school.

Tyler is thoroughly enjoying his Junior year at BFA. Last Saturday he wrote the ACT and has the SAT coming up soon - the first major step in applying for college!

Update from Sandee's small group

It was so good to get caught up with my small group tonight after being apart for our two week Easter break. One of the girls wasn't able to come tonight, but I went to visit her at her dorm later this evening, and we are getting together for dinner tomorrow night. Yeah!
Our group shared about our experiences over the break and then prayed together. It was an amazing time!

Christa, from my small group went on a missions trip to Rwanda over spring break. One of the ministries they were involved in was spending time in childrens homes for orphans.

Esther went on a missions trip to Burkina Faso. Their team did some construction work and were also involved in other ministries to the African people.

C&MA retreat in Switzerland

We returned yesterday from a retreat in the Swiss Alps with our mission colleagues(The C&MA) from BFA. We had a wonderful time together. We had some fresh snow when we arrived and then the skies cleared - beautiful!!

Snow drifts on the top of mountain peak

Sled run beside a HUGE snowbank - very cool! It has been a long time since we have seen so much snow!

Sledding in the Alps!

One of the highlights of the retreat was navigating the 3.5 km sled run high up in the Alps! We found the shortcuts after our first run down. It was much quicker and a whole lot more fun, and it included some major wipe-outs!
Tyler did the sled run and also had a blast skiing for one afternoon!
Here are some of our more daring mission colleagues...

One of my favorite German stores

I know this is a rather odd thing to blog, but this flower shop, near to where we live, shows some amazing German creativity! It has very artistic and beautiful table displays(that are constantly changing with the seasons) and gives a person some great ideas for decorating. Just ask Tim! He was thrilled to go to this store with me today!
