Sunday afternoon walk
Our local golf course is a great place to go for a walk. At this time of year it is not very busy, but every once in awhile we have to stop for any golfers who might be on the course since they have "the right of way".

19 years ago........
19 years ago today Luke was born in Loerrach, Germany(at 4:07 pm). He weighed just under 7 lbs. and had a headful of dark hair. Today, on his 19th Birthday, he has a headful of blonde hair and is very far away from us in college in Indiana! This is the first time he has been apart from us for his Birthday. Happy Birthday, son! We miss you!

Hochblauen and Hoarfrost
Today Tim and I drove up to Hochblauen, the mountain that is 12 miles from our house. There is no snow in our town so we went to find some!
This is taken from on top looking down on the town of Marzell where two of our dorms are located.

Hang-glider...

Snow on the ground, hoarfrost in the trees, blue sky mixed with the most amazing clouds. Oh!...and best of all, my man!

"How many are Your works O Lord! In wisdom You made them all!" Psalm 104:24

Black Forest Academy from the air
Here are some photos of BFA taken from a helicopter. Our campus consists of three buildings: the one with the silver roof consists of classrooms, studios, offices, and a library. The red-roofed building houses our gymnasium, central kitchen, cafeteria, and auditorium. The gray-roofed building contains classrooms, offices, and a student center.

BFA Skate Night
On Friday night our High School went skating at an outdoor rink in Basel (Switzerland). Many of our students know a lot more about playing soccer than ice skating because of where they grew up! However, they had fun trying a new sport, some of them for the first time! The locals must have wondered what happend because there were so many of us and we kind of took over the whole rink!
I took a drive....
Back to college....
We took Luke to Zurich on Wednesday, January 2, only to find that his flight had been cancelled! Can you imagine the chaos when a huge plane cancels an international flight....at high season?! We were initially told by our airline that Luke would not be able to get another flight until 4 days later! But then later in the day we found out that they had a seat for him in Business Class the next day(Thursday). So.....we were able to spend an extra day with him which was wonderful! And....he flew Business which he had never experienced before! And...because of flying Business he was allowed more weight, so I stuffed more "stuff" in his suitcase. And...because of flying Business he was able to spend his 6 hour layover in D.C. in the Red Carpet Lounge!
Our last evening together before Luke headed back to Taylor University.
