Common Sunflower

This wild sunflower is blooming in abundance these days. There are many of them in the fields in front of our house, where these pictures were taken.

Hiking Seven Bridges

This hike, in the mountains above Colorado Springs, takes you across seven bridges that zigzag along a creek that climbs up into the mountains. The higher we hiked, the more challenging and rugged! The views are always worth it!

A visit from our Dutch friends

Jasper and Lois have come from Holland and are visiting friends and touring different States for three weeks while their daughter attends a summer camp in Maine. Lois is a graduate of BFA. When I first came to Black Forest Academy back in 1981, Lois was in my dorm, where I was working as a resident assistant. We were in the dorm together for three years and became good friends.
Jasper and she spent two nights with us; we had so much fun together. It was truly a blessing to have them in our home and to spend time visiting and giving them a little taste of Colorado Springs.

BFA Reunion

There are a lot of former students and former staff from Black Forest Academy who are living in or near to Colorado Springs. Tonight we got together for a mini reunion. We had a wonderful time together; we hope that we can do this again in the not-too-distant future.
When Tim first came to BFA in 1986, these three guys were in his dorm, HBR, where Tim was a resident assistant. It is truly amazing to see them again, married, with children, and thriving.

 Don and Jordia are two former staff members who live here in the city. Tim was their "boss" back at BFA.
