The storm held off, so we kept hiking. We got home just in time!

Saturday hike to Gold Camp road

 Colorado Spring's drinking water comes from these two reservoirs. It was encouraging to hike by them today and see them so full from all of the moisture we have had lately.

We hiked up to Gold Camp Road from the reservoirs. Further up, this mountain road was washed out, due to so much torrential rain (we didn't hike as far as the wash-out since it was a long ways. Photo credits for this photo are from KKTV, one of our local TV stations). We have driven on this road and it is very sad to see this! It will likely take a long time to repair, since it will require some major reconstruction.

Tons of tourists

In the right place at the right time - after living for 3 years in Colorado Springs, we finally saw a herd of bighorn sheep grazing in front of us in Garden of the Gods. They didn't stick around long though - too many humans in their territory!
