BFA's annual Christmas Fest took place last night and we enjoyed being a part of the festivities. Tim took this picture of me with Alanna from the senior class who has become very special to us. She is a beautiful young lady inside and out!
Servers at the banquet were middle school students. They did a fantastic job of waiting on our tables and keeping us happy!
Krista is in Tim's Technical Drawing class. She is another one our favorite people(we have quite a few of them!)
Tyler with his best friend Yoel(he was in first grade with Tyler)and another friend, David.
At our Christmas Fest the students can choose who they want to sit with. Many of the guys invite a girl of course! This year Tyler and five of his friends(all Asians!) decided to sit together - no girls!! They had a great time!
My small group - they are the best!

A visit from a friend
This past week my friend Katharina was visiting in our home and at BFA. She is a graduate of Black Forest Academy and is on her way to South Africa on a fact-finding trip with her mission organization.
Kat's sister Stephanie is now a student at BFA. She was excited to have her older sister come for a visit.

Thanksgiving - Part II
Two weeks ago we celebrated Thanksgiving(Part I) at the dorm where we help out. Last night we celebrated with friends from BFA, four young couples who are such amazing people! We had a very fun evening together. I am so thankful that Tim was able to make it back in time from his trip to Canada. He arrived early yesterday morning.

Tim's Technical Drawing Class
Tim teaches a Technical Drawing class at BFA and these are his students hard at work with their final project of the term - constructing a building of their choosing. We'll post some pictures later on when the projects are nearing completion.
Please pray for Tim as he has made an unexpected trip to Canada to attend the funeral of a former colleague of his. Gary Hildebrand was on Tim's administrative team at BFA. He died last week after suffering with ALS(Lou Gehrig's disease). His funeral is today. Please uphold his family especially his wife Bernice and their four children.

And then there were seven!
I now have seven lovely ladies in my small group at BFA. Anna-Kate recently joined our group after finishing volleyball season which consumed a considerable amount of her time. Now she has more free time and so was able to join us.
Anna-Kate, Kyra, Anna, Lizzy, Jessica, Esther and Christa
Tim says he wants to join my small group but he usually only lasts about five minutes and then he has to escape up to his office!

Archives
I recently scanned these old pictures, taken approximately 16 years ago when we were visiting my home in Canada while on furlough. Our friend took us up in his plane and we took these shots. This one is of the farm I grew up on. See the road leading to it? I still remember the time Tim drove down it for the first time when he came to visit me. He called it the longest driveway he had ever seen!
This is the nearest town to our farm - an approximate 10 mile drive!

Thanksgiving - Part 1
At BFA the residences(dorms) celebrate "BFA Thanksgiving" in between Canadian and American Thanksgiving. This took place last night and we were invited to Storchenblick dorm. We had a wonderful time celebrating with approximately 40 people! We enjoyed a huge meal, followed by dessert, followed by charades, plus a couple of other performances. We are thankful to be able to work alongside such a great group of students and staff.
(We will celebrate Thanksgiving - Part II....i.e. American Thanksgiving.....in two weeks' time)
Tyler was slightly outnumbered by women but he had a great time(I think!).
