Senior Class Skate Night

Last night was "class parties night"at BFA, and the senior class went ice skating. I was one of the drivers so was able to take some pictures and skate as well.
Here are some of the beautiful and very fun people in Tyler's class!

Non-skaters playing Dutch Blitz

Tyler with his good friend, Lukas

Lukas, Lindsey and Tyler.....Lindsey and Tyler have been together at BFA since Grade 1!

Verity and Aryan......this was Aryan's first time on skates. Verity and I skated with him for a while because he was so nervous. He was like a statue on the ice - he didn't even move his feet but let us push him along! But then later in the evening he was skating all by himself! Way to go, Aryan!

Hot chocolate and treats at the end of the evening, served by Tyler (class president) and other class officers and sponsors.

Kenya Missions Trip Part II

Yesterday we hosted a meal in our home for the Easter missions trip that I am helping to lead. We had a wonderful time together eating food and getting to know each other better.
We will be traveling to Kenya to work in a orphanage - March 28 to April 5.

Signing Kenya visa applications - lots of paperwork to process especially since our team is so large!

Team building games that provided great entertainment!

Each team had to built a pyramid of cups without touching the cups with their hands.

Inauguration Day

We love having students over to our home and they enjoy "escaping" the dorm. Some students and staff asked if they could come over to watch the inauguration on Tuesday, so we invited them all for supper. We ate around the TV because the swearing in took place at 6:00 pm German time!

Three of the students who came are Korean. They asked some good questions and made some very interesting observations, especially about how this is such a huge celebration. It is not like this in many other countries when a new leader comes into power.

KD is always happy to entertain our guests and see a new face (because we are pretty boring sometimes)!

My small gorup

I know you see a lot of them on this blog, but they are an important part of my life! We took this picture for the two sisters from our group who had to leave BFA at Christmas.

Proud Parents

We received this letter in the mail today, and since we couldn't submit it to our local newspaper we decided to post it here! Way to go, Luke! We are so proud of you! (He was on the Deans List last year, too!)
Double click on document to enlarge it.

Billy and Nathan, Luke's good friends from BFA days, came home for Christmas, just like Luke was able to do. They had a wonderful time together, along with other BFA alumni who were home for the holidays.

Go Falcons!

This weekend our school hosted home basketball games. We are very proud of our Falcons! They have a good reputation with the schools that they compete against. They give 100% on the court and show great sportsmanship to visiting teams

Tim usually helps with score keeping at BFA's home games. It is a very intense task and requires complete concentration!

Loyal fans!

A walk in the fog

I took these shots this week while walking on a very foggy morning. The sun would try to come through and then the fog would roll in again. It was very cool (and also very cold!).

These look like black and white photos but they're not! Thats how it really was!
